JOSH Boon, from Kelly College, racing at the Taunton Deane Aquathon, pulled out the stops to taste success.
Having turned 13 just three weeks ago he had a tough job of racing in the 13-14 year old TriStar 3 age group. Many of his competitors were two years older than him.
Josh completed the 400 yard swim (and swim-to run-transition) in 5 minutes 18 seconds and set off on the three-lap run course at a blistering pace. With two older competitors some distance behind him, Josh had his work cut out to maintain the lead.
Executing a superb run plan he completing the 3km run section in just 11mins 31secs he comfortably secured first place. His total time was 16 minutes and 49 seconds.
