GOLDEN Labrador Holly has been announced as the winner of the April 2014 Braveheart Award at Okeford Veterinary Centre. Holly is a nine year old Labrador who presented at the practice with a large mast cell tumour on her elbow. Because of the position and size of the tumour, surgical removal was very difficult and plastic surgery was required to close the wound. Post-op dressings were applied and Holly had these changed every two to three days for nearly a month. Holly made an excellent recovery and is back to a completely normal lifestyle. Ciara Finneigan from the practice said: 'She remained a very happy and positive dog all the way through her treatment and her owner was meticulous in attending the many bandage changes that were required. She is a very worthy winner of this month's Braveheart Award.'
