TWO West Devon organisations received large donations recently thanks to the bravery of residents taking part in the Walrus Day Dip.
The annual dip on New Year's Day saw plenty of Hatherleigh residents brave freezing temperatures as they plunged into the River Lew.
Organised by Hatherleigh Walruses, the event raised £2,100, which was split equally between Hatherleigh Primary School and the town skate park.
The cheque presentation took place at the Tally Ho Inn where Walrus chairman Martin Kelly presented the donations to Jane Fawcett and Janet Chapman, of Hatherleigh Primary School, and Bradley Horn, of Hatherleigh skate park.
The event has raised more than £50,000 for various charities and organisations over the last 24 years. Pictured are Walrus Martin Kelly with Jane Fawcett and Janet Chapman, Bradley Horn, Jessica Squire, secretary Diane Bugden, supporters and committee members.
