WALK off the excesses of the festive season and keep that New Year?s resolution to take more exercise a little bit longer by joining Okehampton?s weekly Walk and Talk sessions which have begun again this month.

The short walks supported by Mid-Devon NHS Primary Care Trust aim to get people active and improve their health.

The Walk and Talk initiative was launched last October and reconvened this week after a Christmas break.

Each walk takes between 30-50 minutes and finishes at a local café, with walkers able to go at their own pace.

The walks also offer a chance to meet new people and chat as you stroll.

Walks take place each week, alternating between Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The first walk of the New Year met outside Waitrose in Okehampton, on Tuesday.

The Thursday walks begin again on January 15, meeting at Okehampton Post Office at 10.30am.

The walks then alternate between Tuesdays and Thursdays as follows ? Tuesday, January 20; Thursday, January 29; Tuesday, February 3; Thursday, February 12; Tuesday, February 17; Thursday, February 26; Tuesday, March 2; Thursday, March 11; Tuesday, March 16; Thursday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 30.

If you would like to take part, come along to one of the walks or ring walk co-ordinator Helen Buxton-Smith for further information, on 01884 255255 from January 15.
