THE future of two of Sticklepath?s popular annual events, the Midsummer Ball, and the Pram Race, which takes place in October, could be in doubt if more volunteers fail to come forward.
The final meeting of the present sports club committee takes place next week, and committee members believe the enthusiasm of a new organising group is essential for the events to continue. Some members of the committee have decided they have to step down because of other commitments, but are happy to continue to offer any support and advice to new committee members.
Both events are well supported in the surrounding villages and have been running for many years, raising a large amount for charity in the process.
Many of the present committee members are willing to continue but new members are needed, and would be welcomed at the meeting on August 20, at 8pm in the meeting room of the Taw River Inn in Sticklepath.
