GOOD Samaritan Darren Tait and a small army of volunteers were today taking vitally-needed supplies to Ukranian refugees.

Mr Tait, who runs taxi business Darren’s Cars in St Ann’s Chapel, was heading a 15-vehicle convoy manned by supporters and volunteer drivers packed with essential supplies donated by people throughout West Devon and beyond.

His expedition, started because he was touched by the plight of refugees fleeing the Russian army, initially aimed to take one van to Poland, where the team will start distributing supplies tomorrow (Tuesday). But his mercy mission grew into a convoy after a huge response from the public following a plea for supplies.Mr Tait said: ‘I can’t thank people enough.’
