A FUN-packed weekend of events in Northlew are being staged next month to raise money for Exeter Leukaemia Fund.

It kicks off on Friday, August 15 in the village hall with Wishful Thinking playing for free.

On August 16, a football match between Northlew past and present teams takes place at 2.30pm.

Throughout the afternoon, a fair will also be running featuring a car boot sale, a bouncy castle assault course, ram roast and tethered balloon rides. In the evening, more entertainment is planned in the garden of the Green Dragon pub.

The finale to the weekend will be a grand draw of promises on Sunday, August 17, in front of the Green Dragon. Organisers hope to have as many as 100 promises going under the hammer, already confirmed are a trip to the House of Commons, items of garden furniture and a football signed by Everton Football Club. The auction will begin at 6pm.
