THE programme for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Belstone has this week been revealed.
Thanks to the generous donations of village community groups, all the celebrations on Monday June 4 are free to parish residents, with guests asked to provide a salad or pudding to bring and share at the evening hog roast, or a cake for the afternoon tea.
At 11am, Belstone Youth Group will be in the village hall making crowns.
The church bells will be rung at noon, with a short service at 12.30pm either in the church or on the green outside Dartmoor House if the weather is dry.
At 12.45pm, there will be a group photograph taken of everyone who lives in the village.
At 2.30pm there will be afternoon teas in the village hall, and at 6.30pm the hall will host a hog roast and party.
The day's celebrations finish at 9.30pm with the lighting of the beacon on Watchet Hill.
Guests are asked to bring their own drinks and glasses to the hog roast.
All children must be accompanied by an adult, and organisers ask that only guide dogs are allowed at the hog roast and party.
Guests from outside the parish are welcome, but are asked to make a contribution to the honesty box on the day.
