GUNNISLAKE switched on its Christmas lights on Saturday to a fanfare by members of the Royal Marines Corps of Drums and the rousing sounds of the City of Plymouth Pipe Band led by Commander Charles Crighton (RN Ret).
Fireworks lit the sky and several hundred villagers and visitors from the South West enjoyed an evening of excitement and spectacle.
Now an annual event, the small committee that organises the lights continue its preparations as Christmas approaches and looks forward to 2009.
