WEST Devon will be marking National Play Day, the annual celebration of children's right to play on Wednesday August 3.

The West Devon Play Forum and its partners are staging four events where young people aged 0–18 can take part in free play and other activities. These will include activities such as art and crafts; sports; games; soft play and workshops in dance, skate boarding and circus skills.

The Devon Youth Service mobile unit will be available at the Tavistock and Okehampton events featuring DJing, chill out space, sumo wrestling and other activities for teenagers.

Play Day will be celebrated on August 3 at the following locations: Bridestowe Village Hall 10am-noon; Tavistock Meadows 10am- 12.30pm; Bere Alston Parish Hall 2.30pm-5pm; Okehampton Simmons Park, 2.30pm-5pm.

The West Devon Play Forum has developed the Play Day events with West Devon Borough Council and various other partners including: Bere Alston Regeneration Partnership with Youth to Youth; Devon Youth Service; Local children's centres, pre-schools and nurseries; Okehampton and Tavistock libraries; Okehampton Community Recreation Association; Tavistock Youth Café.
