AN urgent meeting has been called to determine the future of Whitchurch Pre-school.

More committee members are being sought to secure the future of the pre-school.

Jackie Colby, district co-ordinator of Devon County Council's Children and Young People's Services, which funds the pre-school, said in a letter that due to insufficient committee members 'the pre-school will have to close in December 2009 unless another solution to running and managing the group can be found'.

The emergency meeting is to be held at the pre-school, starting at 7.30pm, with refreshments, for 8pm, today (Thursday).

The appeal for assistance is extended to the wider community of Whitchurch — you do not need to be a parent to help out.
