Devon County FA Women?s Cup round 1 Tavistock Ladies 0 Plymouth Uni 6 With only ten players Tavistock got off to a good start with a strong defence keeping Plymouth at bay. Louise Galway set the attack up the right wing, linking with Martine Sawyer who sent balls to Kate Atkinson to attack the defence but they managed to keep her from scoring. Plymouth Uni pulled together to attack Tavistock and a long high shot over the keeper opened the scoresheet in the 20th minute. Tavistock continued playing good football with Julie O?Keefe working the ball through the midfield and Kirsty Jones attacking the left wing, but still unable to score. The pressure of being a player short showed when Plymouth broke through and another shot over the keeper put them 2-0 up. Keeper Aileen Ismail saved a shot on the line and it took a brave dive to the striker?s feet to stop an attack. In the second half Tavistock were looking to score but Atkinson and Jones were faced with two defenders at a time closing down the attack. Plymouth added four goals to their scoresheet. A good defensive shot from Rachael Kelly stopped Plymouth scoring again before the whistle. Players of match: Aileen Ismail and Louise Galway.
