THE annual united service for the Women's World Day of Prayer was held at Tamar Valley Methodist Church recently.
The speaker was Dorothy Gundron, and organist was Joan Bose. Readings were given by various lady representatives from all denominations. The theme this year was 'I Was A Stranger, and You Welcomed Me', prepared by the Christian women of France. Following the service cream teas were served in the adjoining hall by ladies from Tamar Valley Methodist Church.
On Sunday, a united service with the Church of England was held at Tamar Valley, and conducted by the Rev Martyn Smith. Organist was Mrs Bose. Lessons were read by Robin Clowes and Jane Gilbert, of the Church of England. The special preacher was John Hogarth, Curator at Wesley Cottage, Trewint. Two members of the Church of England, Peter Bonsey and Douglas Petipher, assisted the Revs Smith and David Stolton with the communion.
