THE Union Inn notched a hat-trick of wins in the Tavistock and District Quiz League, but as in the previous fixtures, it was a close competition.
Their biggest rivals, Leg O?Mutton, had reduced a four-point deficit at the halfway stage to share the lead after nine rounds.
Again the last round proved decisive with the Union edging home. For the Tavistock Inn and the Royal Standard it was a story of so near yet so far. They were in contention until the closing rounds, but could not match the consistency of the leaders.
Result at the Tavistock Inn:- 1, Union Inn 65 pts; 2, Leg O?Mutton 63; 3, Tavistock Inn 59; 4, Royal Standard 55.
