Okehampton 3rds 3 Awliscombe 2 GOALS from Ceebs, Eddy and Monnox ensured that Okehampton continued their 100% start to the season, but they were made to battle and twice had to come back from being a goal down. Okehampton were 1-0 down after just five minutes when a defensive error by Ditchburn let Awliscombe?s striker through to shoot his side ahead. Okehampton, however, were not behind for long. When a corner fell at the feet of Ceebs in the box he smashed it home to level the scores. In the second half Okehampton dominated the play and should have been ahead, but Ricky Waldridge?s thunderous shot came back off the bar. It was Awliscombe who took the lead, though, against the run of play, when they were awarded a dubious free kick on the edge of the box and scored directly from it. Okehampton did not panic, though, and Waldridge, Woodsy and Chris Bungy dominated the play, creating chance after chance and forcing corner after corner. it was one of these corners that led to the equaliser, Eddy leaping like a salmon at the near post and powering an unstoppable header into the top corner. Despite continued Okehampton pressure the game looked to be heading for a draw until a superb ball from Prowse put Monnox clean through to slot past the goalkeeper, giving Okehampton the lead. Man of the match Ricky Wooldridge.
