THE Okehampton Netball League started the season by holding an umpiring course run by Karen Jones. This was very well attended and deemed to be a success with many teams either improving or learning new skills. Thanks were extended to Karen for her input.
The first matches of the season were played on September 14 with some very good netball being played. The results are as follows: Speedwells 46 (Beth Pengelly) v Cheriton Flyers 36 (Anna Toms), Falcons 40 (Zoë Colton/Jo Luxton v Dodgers (Clare Turner), Sprites 19 (Lyn Strawbridge) v Mosaics 16 (Gemma Thompson - a close game from the newly promoted Mosaics, Red Devils 11 (Terri Lane/Tina Adams v Shooting Starz 18 (Polly Woods), Starburst 55 (Kim Smith) v Malteserz 1 (Jess Squire), Ladybirds 46 (Sarah Jenkins) v Helz Angels 1 (Helen Cooper).

Red Devils 26 (Lisa Liversidge) v Starburst 25 (Loren Ausden) - this was a very close game with the whistle blowing just as Starburst were preparing to shoot for an equaliser. Good netball from the young Starburst team. Jesters 17 (Jo Grout) v Breezers 17 (Laura Cooper) ? A very close match between these two teams.
