EURO MP Roger Knapman, who lives at Coryton, is to stand down as leader of the UK Independence Party. Mr Knapman?s four-year term as leader will end in September, but he will remain an MEP. The 62-year-old former Conservative minister said he was standing down with the party in good shape. The number of UKIP MEPs had increased from two to 12 during his term as leader and membership had gone from 5,000 to 20,000, he said.
