THERE?will be plenty of 'spooky' goings-on at National Trust sites during half-term next week — to celebrate Hallowe'en.
From Saturday, October 27 to Sunday, November 4, brave youngsters and parents alike can follow a spooky story trail at Castle Drogo, near Drewsteignton, winding up with a prize at the end. The trail is open from 11am to 4pm each day.
On Hallowe'en day itself (Wednesday, October 31), youngsters can make their own creation to scare their friends and family, or eat some spooky snacks. The craft activities take place from 11am to 1pm, and 2pm to 4pm. The tasty tricks and treats are available from 12pm to 3pm.

South West Lakes Trust and Dartmoor National Park will be running a free Hallowe'en night spooktacular at Burrator Reservoir on October 31.
The evening, which starts at 6pm and finishes around 7.30pm, will involve a number or Hallowe'en -themed activities, including a spooky night-time walk to the Haunted Barn where there will be a chance to hear some spooky stories.
Those taking part can even carve a pumpkin, enjoy Hallowe'en fun and games and enjoy some tasty treats.
The event is suitable for children aged 5 to 12 and those who attend must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Boots and clothes suitable for moorland walking are required and torches are essential. Meet at 6pm in the Norsworthy Bridge car park. A Hallowe'en outfit is preferred but not compulsory.

l The Tamar Valley will be transformed into a coven of witches, wizards and monsters when a Spooky Spectacular takes place on Hallowe'en.
Children and adults taking part will be donning their scariest outfits and enjoying an evening of fun, including apple bobbing, pumpkin carving, creepy crafts, witches brews and spooky snacks.
As dusk arrives, a 'trick or treat' walk will take place in the nearby woods. Everyone taking part is encouraged to bring a torch as they search for treats and hunt for pumpkins in the woodland. Then it will be back to the campfire to toast marshmallows.
The fun takes place between 3pm and 5pm and costs £5 per child. Grown ups are welcome, and dogs too.
Parking is at the Tamar Trails Car Park at the head of the Tamar Trails (off the A390 between Gunnislake and Tavistock, PL19 8JE) and costs £2 for the day per car.
