WITH athletics' sixth and final race of the South Devon DML Mini drawing to a close it was fitting the sun shone to make conditions ideal for the undulating course at Gramersey School, Brixham.

The U11 boys and girls turned out in force to retain the trophy they won last year.

Emma Passmore ran well to record yet another second place, closely followed by Lottie Fulton in fourth and Sarah Guy fifth.

The U11 boys had stalwarts Nathan Wonnacott, Jimmy Hubbard and Robin Lees again turn out with Jimmy finally beating Nathan by taking fifth place and Nathan sixth.

Not only did they retain the overall trophy but the U11 girls swept the board for individual trophies with Emma Passmore in first place, Sarah Guy in second and Kathryn Dalton in third.

Nathan Wonnacott and Jimmy Hubbard were fourth and fifth respectively.

Turning out for the first time, Adam Holland ran with confidence and gained third place.

Tim Powell in the senior men also ran one of his best races in years and finished 12th with some ease,

Shaun Hewitt, although not racing, took overall third place in the U15 boys.
