A SPECIAL bouquet and voucher was presented to a long-standing member of staff at Tavistock College recently, who retired after more than 20 years at the school. Grace Ayres started working for the college in April 1984, when it took over management of the cleaning personnel ? she previously worked for other cleaning contractors at the school. A college spokesman said: ?Grace?s work has always been of a high standard and is always done with a cheerful smile and a word for everyone. ?She underwent a major heart operation in 2001 and she recovered from this quickly and was soon back at work. ?She has always been conscientious and reported for work, even when the weather has been extreme.? College principal Colin Eves presented Grace with a garden voucher and a bouquet and thanked her for her dedication and hard work over the years. He said she would be sorely missed but wished her a long and happy retirement.
