TAVISTOCK Triathlon Club members now have distinctive new red and black hoody training tops.
The club was formed in August 2010 by Clare Short in partnership with British Triathlon and now has 28 members all of whom regularly attend swim, bike, run sessions and training days.
There are four fully qualified coaches‚ Clare Short, Nicky Deane Simmons, Mike Gunnell and Liz Vernon while Jemma Sharman leads most of the run sessions.
All the coaches said they are really pleased with the huge progress all the athletes are making. The first event for most of the members will be in May at the Exe Valley Sprint Triathlon, although some members are aiming towards Ironman events!
The club is holding its first Aquathon on April 16. The fun event consists of a 400m swim at Kelly College swimming pool followed by a 5km hilly, mainly off road run.
Clare said: 'It's really early days for this aquathon but we hope to make it an annual event. Hopefully next year we will be able to run a series of aquathons, and possibly a triathlon as well!'
