THE residents and staff at McCarthy and Stone retirement apartments in Tavistock recently gathered in the grounds to plant a tree and lay a plaque in memory of a staff member who died earlier this year.

Jane Vodden was a valued member of staff who died just three weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 43.

Jane was the McCarthy and Stone sales consultant, who informed, arranged and assisted the residents to move into their new homes.

At the ceremony, Jane's husband spoke of how much she had enjoyed her work and helping people, and a resident told of her dedication, which ensured their well-being was always a priority.
