THE organisers of a spectacular festival of historic transport are pulling out all the stops to ensure there is plenty to see and do at an event this weekend.
Visitors to the Tamar Historic Transport Club's (THTC) Festival of Transport this Sunday (July 11), will see with hundreds of historic vehicles from motorbikes to cars, tractors to lorries, even a steamboat which will vie for water space on the lake with model sailing vessels and a hovercraft. There will also be a large flat-screen TV at the show site at Polhilsa Farm, just outside Callington off the A388 Launceston road, for those who want to keep an eye on the sport.
The festival also features live music, majorettes, an autojumble, sumo wrestling suits, a beer tent, refreshments, a variety of stalls and a family dog show.
The event is to raise cash for Cornwall Blind Association, the Breathers Group, Muscular Dystrophy Respite and the renal unit at Derriford Hospital. The fun begins at 10am on Sunday July 11. Entry is £3 but under 16s are free.
