A RECENT Open Space meeting held by Transition Tavistock, was deemed very successful.

The meeting was well attended by people who have been involved with existing environmental groups as well as many new faces.

The Transition movement aims to make people recognise they can make a difference on an individual level, to the local and global environment and to their own personal lives.

By signing up to take part in working groups, the Transition movement hopes individuals are empowered and more able to cope with the effects of global warming and dwindling oil resources.

At the end of the session, six working groups had been formed and will soon meet to discuss their first actions. They were Energy, Transport, Food, Waste, Community and Communication.
