DEVON Heartlands is pleased to confirm the return of the Community Forum to Okehampton — thanks to a grant from Okehampton Town Council.

The forum will be held quarterly at the Ockment Centre with the next meeting on Wednesday, June 5 from 2pm to 4pm. The forum is free, independent, and open to all. It aims to help to keep people in touch with issues that are important to the Okehampton community.

The guest speaker will be Rebecca Black from West Devon Borough Council's strategic planning department, who will give an update on the 'Okehampton masterplanning'.

Forum chairman Philip Wagstaff, said: 'It is good news that the town council grant, as a contribution towards the cost of running the forum, has enabled it to return to Okehampton on a regular basis.

'We hope that all the regulars as well as new members from the community will be able to attend and participate in the discussions. We are fortunate that guests are willing to give their time to lead the debates.'

The Community Forum will continue to be held on the first Thursday of the month during the intervening months in North Tawton.
