The 'River of Colour', a banner comprising 2,000 colourful figures made out of recycled plastic bags, decorated Tavistock Town Hall in September as part of the Year of the Artist celebrations.
Maggie Squire, the Tavistock artist who co-ordinated the community project, was asked to bring a section of the banner to Exeter two weeks ago.
She said: 'It's off to the Rural Development Agency buildings in Exeter for an exhibition of some of the Nine Days of Art pieces. It's going to be there for about four months.'
Mrs Squire said the banner has been well travelled since its Tavistock debut. It has been exhibited at Porthtowan, Kelly College and took part in the Jubilee 2000 Debt Day at Princetown in January.
'People who went to Princetown on the day also made some figures, which were going to be sent to various people as a reminder of Third World debt,' said Mrs Squire.
Volunteers both young and old took part in making the 2,000 figures for the 'River of Colour' last summer — many others contributed plastic bags to the project.
