DRAWN in the cup away against the top team, Tavistock faced a difficult challenge but began encouragingly by closing down their opponents and threatening to break through their defence.

Sam Taylor fired a long range shot that went close then poor defending gave Manstow the chance to go into the lead.

Manstow slowly took control and an unstoppable shot beat Webber after Tavistock again failed to clear their defence.

Tavistock needed to show strength of character in the second half, but as time wore on Manstow began to dominate and composure was lost.

The score would have increased without good goalkeeping from Webber and Kelly came on as substitute. Tavistock resorted to thoughtless clearances and balls were won by Manstow with ease in the middle of the park. Towards the end a decision went against Tavistock and the resulting free kick flew into the net.
