MABLE was the star of the show at an event held at Endsleigh Garden Centre recently.
Mable, a collie cross who is owned by Trevor Gliddon of Tavistock, did not let the little matter of a rare medical condition get in the way of the rosettes at the South West Utilities Show.
Although Mable suffers from canine narcolepsy, which means she can unexpectedly fall into a deep sleep at odd times, she scooped the prize for the best crossbreed and the dog in best condition, before finally being declared best in show, beating many pedigree dogs to the title.
