A FLY-fishing final for the South West?s biggest fundraisers took place at Tavistock Fishery last Sunday (October 6).
The fundraisers? final was open to those who have raised the most money for Vranch House School and Centre for children with cerebral palsy, in Exeter.
The 24 anglers, who had reeled in the largest cash total this year, competed for a number of prizes at the concluding event in the Vranch House Charity Challenge, which attracted a total of around 100 anglers.
The 24 finalists had raised a massive £10,635 of this year?s total of £16,588 ? a new record and £3,580 more than last year.
The total raised in the last ten years now stands at £105,065 ? with Tavistock fishery having raised a remarkable £31,703 of that total.
Tavistock fishery staged the event having again raised more than any of the other fisheries taking part ? a total of £3,774.
Sue Gould, of Vranch House School and Centre who organises the challenge said: ?This is the best year ever.?
The Vranch House school and centre based in Exeter helps children with cerebral palsy and all children with physical difficulties.
