YOUR old unused tools could soon be producing minor miracles in Africa.
The Lions Club of Tavistock will be in Bedford Square on Saturday June 10 from 10am, collecting any tools and equipment that can be turned out of garages, sheds and kitchens.
They particularly want garden tools, hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels and so on, kitchen utensils and office equipment, particularly typewriters.
They will be serviced and passed on to Operation Sunshine, a Christian group working behind the scenes to send everyday items to Africa.
A container-load of clothes, medical supplies, water carriers and tools is being prepared at the group's headquarters in Tavistock. It is due to be shipped to Mozambique, leaving Tavistock on July 29.
Operation Sunshine would also like people to help sort out donated goods and load the container. Please contact the Lions in Bedford Square on June 10.
