THE New Okehampton Hospital Appeal received a helping hand from the Okehampton Times last week.
The newspaper's editor, Colin Brent, presented a £400 cheque to Dr Paul Nielson, who has spearheaded the campaign for the new hospital.
Dr Nielson said he was delighted to accept the cheque.
'The Okehampton Times has supported the new hospital appeal from the word go and we are very grateful to the paper for all its help,' he said.
Colin Brent said the paper supported a variety of groups in its circulation area. 'I am very pleased we have been able to allocate some cash towards this vital appeal,' he added.
