ENERGETIC Yelverton residents are invited to join in a unique parish boundary walk this weekend.
The ten-mile hike will start at St Paul?s Hall, and will follow the parish boundary as closely as possible, including some areas normally closed to the public.
The event is a first for the parish, although boundary walks are a church tradition dating back many centuries.
Walkers will be issued with a set of notes containing interesting trivia about the route and there will be a quiz at the end to test everyone?s observational skills.
A timetable and map are on display at the back of the church, so that anyone unable to undertake the full distance can join and leave at convenient points.
A small fee of £2 is asked, which will go towards church funds. Everybody is welcome, and it is recommended stout footwear be worn and a picnic lunch carried for a stop at Coleraine, Golf Links Road.
Home-made soup and bread will be served at the end of the day.
The walk will begin at 10am prompt this Saturday and participants should meet at St Paul?s Hall at 9.30am.
Organisers warn some parts may not be suitable for pushchairs, and dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
