Tavistock Tigers 2
Bombardiers 0
TIGERS hockey team kept the pressure on the leaders at the top of the table with a good win over Bombardiers. The last time these two teams met it ended in a draw.
Tavistock played positive hockey and looked the likely side to score. Fiona.Dunn, making a rare appearance for the Tigers, played well as an attacker. The Tigers defence battled hard and Butler, Glanville and Holden were well organised and prevented the Bombardiers from having any chances of scoring. The first goal came from a strong hit out by Glanville and with good passing play Dunn hit the ball across the D for Mackintosh to slide it past the keeper. Barrat Jnr and Robynne Honey played some good hockey and worried the defence of the opposition.
During the interval captain Holden made tactical changes which paid off in the second half. Bombardiers never really threatened Osborne in the Tigers goal although he had a few saves to make.
The second goal was made from a break down the left wing. Andrews, having just come on the pitch, set the ball up for Mackintosh to double his tally.
The Tigers now look forward to a hard match against leaders Liskeard.
