VOLUNTEERS from the ages of five to 85 were out in force to tackle litter on the streets of Tavistock for Tidy Tavi’s last litter-picking expedition of 2016.
The group of 22 participants enjoyed a seasonal treat of mince pies and mulled wine for the adults before setting off from Meadowlands.
A spokesperson for Tidy Tavi said: ‘A first-time volunteer commented on the wonderful feeling of satisfaction on filling her first sack of rubbish after half an hour of surprisingly gratifying work. Especially appreciated was the appearance of a worthy junior contingent, consisting of Ella, Evie and James Baker. The presence of James, aged five, and Eileen Hooper, aged 85, created a remarkable age span of 80 years!’
