Tidy Tavi volunteers have celebrated their sixth anniversary as a litter-picking group.

Cake and drinks were kindly provided in the Meadowlands Café by the management who also provide valuable support in other ways on an ongoing basis.

The ensuing litter-picking expedition was a great success, despite some light and patchy rain which did not deter the volunteers, young or old.

A considerable haul of rubbish was collected from the streets and public spaces of Tavistock, leaving the town clean and tidy for all to enjoy.

Organisers expressed thanks to everyone who has joined in as a volunteer or supported the group in other ways over the last six years.

Organisers have also made an extraordinary statement to the effect that they would prefer not to be in a position to celebrate a 7th anniversary next year! The challenge ‘Put us out of business’ still stands.
