In the second half, Elliot Northmore collected another high kick and made good ground before offloading to Jack Bond who sprinted down the line and touched down under the posts.
Following a flurry of replacements, another crossfield kick by Phil Snell saw Dan Oner dive on the loose ball for Tavistock's next score. Good handling across the width of the pitch enabled Thursby to run in his third try.
A breakout from their own 22 resulted in Mark Friend running in try number eight. The final Tavistock score came straight from the restart as Josh Leeson gathered and fed James Lockley who outpaced a tiring defence. Leeson kicked six conversions and Tom Simmons two.

TAVISTOCK, playing their second game of the season, came up against a well organised Liskeard.
Throughout a tight match, both sets of forwards battled hard in what were warm conditions. Withstanding early pressure, Tavistock took advantage of a well rehearsed move in the backs to take a 7-0 lead into half-time thanks to a try by Monty Burdfield, successfully converted by David Lunn.
A physical forward battle was again the theme for the second half, with Tavistock's pack under pressure throughout, although remaining resilient.
Zak Cinnamond battled tirelessly in support of the effort and suffered one hit too many and left the field injured, but satisfied with a great contribution. A nervy final quarter saw Tavistock concede a late try, having missed an earlier penalty.
Ed Longden, at full back, epitomised the improved level of tactical appreciation with an outstanding performance, and was a worthy man of the match.

Tavistock took a ball won from a scrum by Frazer Bayliss in the Liskeard 22 across the field through the backs for Jamie Duncan to place in the corner.
The second Tavistock try came from a Jez Massy Birch sprint, taking advantage of Liskeard's lack of speed in open field. The third was a first for Tavistock from Kyle Maslen with a dummy under the posts against his former team-mates, having joined from Liskeard at the beginning of the season
His Callington College colleague Sam Pluckrose delivered the fourth try from a splendidly executed double pass among the forwards
Sam Northmore powered from the halfway and handed off the opposition with a technique practised at this week's West Devon training to provide the fifth.
Liskeard produced their second try by cohesive joint work by the forwards.
The sixth Tavistock try came when Sam Northmore at No 8 broke away from a set scrum and sprinted through a gap. Just prior to being tackled he passed to Mason who confused the opposition by going inside through undefended space to place the ball under the posts.
Jez Massy Birch covered threequarters of the pitch along the wing for try seven. The recognition of Tavistock's speed advantage saw Henry Kisby kick ahead from halfway only to sprint to collect his own ball and carry it across for the eighth crossing.
The final try was a second from Pluckrose from an upfield working by the forwards and a combination of strong ball handling between backs and forwards on the Liskeard line.

TAVISTOCK travelled to Liskeard in their first trip over the Tamar this season. The spoils returned to Devon as Tavistock emphatically reversed last season's defeat to Liskeard.
After initial pressure in the Tavistock half and some good defence from Mawgan Preece and Calum Ross, Tavistock gained field position on the Liskeard 22. Goldstone moved the ball quickly to Fuller who passed the ball to Taylor Kingham who crashed between two defenders to open the account.
Good work in the loose by James Ware enabled Goldstone to score again for Tavistock. From the restart, a mistake gave Liskeard the initiative and they reacted quickly to score under the posts.
Tavistock reacted with confidence and played their best rugby in the final ten minutes, attacking from deep and moving the ball downfield through several phases. Alex Boswell was dominant at the front of the lineout and won good ball for inside centre Harry Eaton who sidestepped his opposite number to cap another good performance which included the tackle of the game late in the second half.
Players of the match: Daniel Parr and Taylor Kingham.
Next game, local derby away to Okehampton.

TAVISTOCK got their season off to a flying start with two convincing but hard fought wins in a three-way fixture at Lux Park, Liskeard.
In both matches the Tavistock forwards rucked and mauled fiercely and the backs showed good skills with strong running and passing
Despite stubborn defence from Liskeard and Devonport the determination of Tavistock ensured they were able to turn pressure into points and seal victory in both games.
In the Liskeard match it took a strong running try from Daniel Dobie to break the deadlock. Further tries came from James Perring and Charlie Charlton, and two conversions from Zac Brinkhurst added to the points tally.

Charlie Charlton scored two of these with a pick up and drive over the line on either side of the pitch. The other came from Daniel Dobie again who finished off a flowing move by the backs. Conversions came from Brinkhurst (2) and Charlton (1).
Will Slater featured strongly in both games for Tavistock with hard hitting tackles on his opponents and received good support in loose play from Alex Ferguson, Sam Smith and Ollie Straughan. The team are now looking forward to this week's local derby with Okehampton.
STONEHOUSE Sharks became the first team to visit Tavistock this season and both sides played well but showed signs of being a bit rusty.

Tavistock took the first game 4-3 with good moves from new players such as Freddie Grier Rees, Archie Trevethan and Luke Lewandwski.
The heart of last year's team is still here though with Morgan Turnock, Joe Burbage, Ollie Noy Scott and Jason Blake all showing they had not forgotten how to play over the summer.
Tavistock lost their way slightly in the second game with some poor passing along with some inspired play by Stonehouse Sharks losing it 4-3. However, Lachlan Fulton and Tom Pearson both stood out by having great games with Tom Pearson gaining Man of the match this week.
