IMPROVEMENTS to the outside area of Milton Combe Village Hall were given an official opening to the public on Easter Monday and were given the seal of approval by local children.

Early in 2018, the Milton Combe Village Hall management committee applied for a grant from the National Lottery’s Awards for All scheme to purchase some play equipment, replace the broken picnic tables and resurface the path from the church to the village hall gate and the branch level to the entrance.

On March 15, the committee was told its application for the sum of £8,855 was successful.

A spokesperson for the committee said: ‘Having let the community know we were successful we immediately purchased the tables. Obtaining the play equipment and getting the path resurfaced took a bit longer so the work wasn’t completed until late autumn.

‘The new equipment was officially opened on Easter Monday morning, ahead of our annual duck race in the afternoon.

‘The children much appreciated all this work. Thanks to the National Lottery, Morwellham Sheds, Green Scheme and Done Right.’
