THE Starlight Ladies of Okehampton are celebrating after staging their very successful Starlight Masked Ball last Friday.

The bi-annual event takes place the day after the Okehampton Show in the food marquee. This year saw the event bathed in sunshine as 280 guests arrived for the masked ball.

The ball is the culmination of many months of planning for the Starlight Ladies, and the event raised over £6,000 for Cancer Research UK. The ladies have expressed their thanks to the many people and companies that supported them in their fundraising efforts.

Wendy Raymond, chairperson of Okehampton Starlight Ladies, said: 'The ball is produced with the help and support of many people.

'We are pleased that everyone had a super evening and that such a large sum was raised for such a worthy cause. Our thoughts are now moving towards the 2015 ball.'
