THE Yelverton Golf Club veterans played a three ball competition, with two scores to count, last week.

The winners with 76 points were Derek Maughan, Bob Griffin and Dave Terry. Joint runners-up were Jack Bovingdon, Steve Read and Brian Medhurst, with Paddy Westell, David Hanley and Peter O`Neill.

The Devon President Salver was played at Yelverton last Tuesday in a three-ball event. Bryan Blaber, the Devon Golf Association president hosted and played in the competition. The winners were Woodbury with 107 points.

Yelverton vets played in the first leg of the Emerton Court Competition at Downes, Crediton. Mike Martin and John Gilmour for Yelverton, along with Dennis Voisin and Steve Bryant, were the only pairs to half their matches. Downes Crediton won 4-1.
