A SURPRISE telephone call from Glastonbury resulted in West Devon three-piece band Hannah and the Madding Crowd playing the next day at the festival on the Greenpeace eco-stage.
They had been heard at a gig in Liskeard and word got through to the stage organiser that their music would go down well with the audience.
And so it proved. They played an hour-long set into the early hours of Saturday morning to a packed tent and thoroughly enjoyed the experience — even having to use pedal power to charge the batteries driving the PA system before thjey could play!
You can catch Hannah and the Madding Crowd at the Charter Hall, Okehampton on Friday July 14 at 8pm as part of the Okehampton Arts Festival.
