THE foods of autumn are being celebrated at Rosemoor Gardens this month, with two days packed full of activities for all the family. Apple day takes place on Sunday October 14, in conjunction with Thornhayes Nursery. A variety of events will be taking place, including apple planting, guided tours of Rosemoor?s fruit and vegetable garden, apple tasting, apple advice, displays, identification and children?s activities and trails. Pumpkin day, sponsored by Edwin Tucker and Sons Ltd, will be held on Sunday October 28, between 11.30am and 3pm. There will be tasty pumpkin delicacies to taste, a pumpkin trail and a gourd walk, children?s activities and a competition. The apple and pumpkin days at Rosemoor are part of the Devon Celebration of Food ? one of the largest events of its kind in the country, with more than 70 different features staged throughout October.
