THE THIRD Dartmoor prisoner who was on the run following last month?s escape has been recaptured by police.

Simon Allen, 28, from Taunton, was arrested at an address in Innsworth, Gloucester, last Wednesday and sent back to Dartmoor Prison.

He was hiding in an attic and attempted to jump from a first floor window before being caught.

Allen, who was serving 18 months for burglary, escaped from the category C prison with two fellow prisoners by scaling the exercise yard wall on June 16.

Shaun Dibble, 25, was recaptured a week later by police in Bristol, and the third fugitive Mark Picton, 22, fell and broke his ankle and was recaptured in Princetown within hours of escaping.
