THE Okehampton FOOTsteps School of Dance put on their summer dance show at Barnfield Theatre in Exeter on June 25 and 26.

Around 110 performers took to the stage, many of them dancing for the first time in a theatre setting.

Pupils of all ages tapped, jived and glided through 32 dance numbers.

FOOTsteps principal Mandy Williams expressed thanks to everyone involved with the event: 'I'm always amazed by just how hard the pupils work and perform, and this year they really outdid themselves.

'A special mention needs to go to every parent, grandparent and friend that helped with the organising, costumes, backstage and front of house.

The school runs classes in Okehampton and Yelverton for all ages, and with the Yelverton dancers having performed in November, it was the turn of the Okehampton dancers to fill the stage.

FOOTsteps was established in 2004, and has a strong record helping pupils pass ISTD exams in modern, tap and jazz dance.

There is a range of classes available throughout the week.
