ON Sunday my husband and I enjoyed a lovely walk to Buckland Monochorum via the new cycle path and Gem Bridge.

However, on the return journey we encountered no less than four lots of dog mess — the first three had been bagged up but left on the grass verge — all in different locations, then as we walked a little further on we nearly trod in the last lot that was in the middle of the path.

These dog owners should be throughly ashamed of themselves — do they think that this is a responsible way to behave? A lot of families use this path in what should be a beautiful and safe location — without having to dodge piles of dog mess.

Shame on the dog owners responsible — you know who you are — clean up after your dogs. What possible excuse have you got for not doing so apart from laziness?
