POLICE in Tavistock are appealing for people who may have witnessed a theft from Whitchurch Primary School to come forward.
Two sheds, located on school premises, were broken into between Friday, August 14 and Monday, August 17.
The outbuildings were used to house play equipment and prizes for tombolas for the primary school and Whitchurch Pre-School, which is a charity.
PC Dave Pickles said: 'They took children's trikes and stole orange juice and some Baileys.
'At the weekend some small children — aged three and four — were found with the trikes in Bishopsmead by someone who runs the pre-school. It is likely older teenagers took the bikes and left them in the area.'
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Simon Raeburn on 08452 777444 and quote crime reference number JT/09/971.
