AN Okehampton man is all set to travel the globe and spread a vital message on the power of prayer. Okehampton church minister, Mike Davies from the Inspiration Church, is about to take an extensive tour of South Africa, preaching in numerous churches. Mike will be the main speaker at a conference in Cape Town, which will focus on the power of prayer. He will then give talks in Cape Town churches before travelling along the famous Garden Route and visiting different churches on the way. At Victory Church, in Jeffrey's Bay, home to a large ministerial training academy, Mike will also be giving a speech and after leaving there will conclude his trip in Port Elizabeth. Said Mike: 'Every church believes in the power of prayer. 'I believe that it is important for churches and individuals to be specific in their prayer requests rather than just a general prayer — those who are more specific appear to see a greater breakthrough.' Inspiration Church also holds a 'healing and restoration time' at the Inspiration Centre, Northfield Road, on the fourth Sunday of each month from 6pm. Mike added: 'It operates much like a doctors' surgery, if you require a prayer for a miracle, financial breakthrough, healing or for someone else. All are welcome to attend. 'We intentionally don't hold this as a church service as we want to ensure it is open for everyone, whether they are a churchgoer or not.'
