MEMBERS of the popular tribute band, ABBA 2, have chosen their favourite venue of The Wharf, Tavistock to stage their farewell performance this weekend. Over the last five years, ABBA 2 has built up an international reputation for versatility and accuracy to detail in their musical tribute shows to the famous Scandinavian group, ABBA. No-one in ABBA 2 mimes and each member of the group is a serious, expert musician in his or her own right. Tina Williams, who plays Anni-Frid, founded ABBA 2 in 2002, together with guitarist Peter Lloyd. 'Agnetha' is Lorraine Thorne, an accomplished singer/songwriter; Colin Evans ('Benny') was trained as a concert pianist and 'Bjorn' is actually Peter Lloyd, co-founder of the band. All the old favourites such as 'Waterloo' and 'Money, Money, Money' will be featured in ABBA's outstanding, historic show at The Wharf at 8pm on Saturday May 19.
