DURING Callington College Challenge Week, groups of students learnt the importance of make do and mend by taking part in 'Creative Home Crafts'.

The young people made lots of things using recycled materials from charity shops and what they found at home including dolls from wire, wadding and fabric scraps.

They also had the chance to make new bags from old denim jeans as well as learning the skills of sewing by hand,

This activity was put together with the make do and mend theme as most of us now live in a throwaway society, said organiser Lisa Grocott.
