IT'S the big Christmas lights switch-on in East Cornwall this weekend with Callington, Gunnislake and Kelly Bray kick starting their festivities.

The lights on the Christmas tree in St Mary's Square, Callington and the town lights will be switched on at 5.30pm tomorrow (Friday) followed by the Christmas family disco in the town hall. On Saturday there will be a craft fair and Santa's Grotto from 9.30pm, again in the town hall.

Gunnislake will experience the big switch-on at 6.45pm on Saturday (December 4) but the action will begin at 6pm when the Plymouth Pipe Band plays at the Woodland Centre and lead a procession to Commercial Street.

There will also be a fireworks display and Father Christmas will be in his grotto in the public hall where there will be refreshments.

There will be events on all day in the public hall from 10am.

On Sunday (December 5) In Station Road, Kelly Bray, the Christmas tree lights on the giant tree will be switched on by six-year-old Beau Britton at 5.30pm.
