MAY I, through your letters page, thank all those festival organisers, supporters and volunteers who helped us to run our third, and largest, Food and Drink Festival where over 98 regional food and drink producers exhibited their wares to over 8,000 visitors. Particular thanks must go to the Tavistock Business Association and the Rotary Club of Tavistock who provided stewarding services in the marquee and to the Lions and Round Table who organised the very popular Park and Ride scheme. Special thanks also to Peter Gorton of the Horn of Plenty and his team of celebrity chefs who put on two days of superb cookery demonstrations and to Maria Jones who organised Tavistock Farmers? Market. Let me also thank all those visitors who supported the festival, despite two inclement days of weather. Finally, my thanks to all our friends and family who gave of their time and effort unstintingly both before and during the festival. We look forward now to organising our fourth festival scheduled for July 28 and 29 2007. Jeffrey Stackhouse Festival chairman MAY I, through your column, express our grateful thanks to the organisers and volunteers who made Tavistock Food and Drink Festival such a success? From arrival on Friday evening through to closure on Sunday evening, we were offered help at every stage. Despite adverse weather conditions, they were always smiling and ready to assist. Their efforts greatly enhanced the wonderful atmosphere which was created and hopefully enjoyed by both exhibitors and visitors. Rarely have I attended such a well organised event. I am pleased to announce that Mr P Fletcher, of Yelverton, was the lucky winner of our Villeroy and Boch competition, and wins £100 of New Wave china.
